Ruger was a true all around dog.  He was always willing to try anything that was  ever been asked of him.  Scroll down to see his accomplishments in the ring and field. Every fall found Bob & Ruger goose & duck hunting almost daily.  He was a dog who will not give up.  Bob thought he had lost him in fall of 1999 when he disappeared near dusk after a wounded snow goose. About 20 minutes later he realized that the snow goose swimming  towards him from way across the water (it was dark by this time) was actually Ruger retrieving the wounded bird. In fall of 2006 at 11 years old Ruger still spent a couple of days in the field.
