Adopted -  #48 - 2009 - Duke:  is a 5 year old neutered male.  He's a laid back guy who's happy laying at your feet or resting his head in your lap.  He is afraid of some men and prefers a quiet household.  He's crate trained, walks well on leash, doesn't jump up and gets along well with other dogs.
Adopted #47 - 2009 - Ruby:  is a 18 month old spayed female.   Ruby was surrendered to rescue by a family who found her energy level was too much for them.  She has taken basic obedience classes and knows sit, down and stay.  Her come command isn't too bad but she does need work on leash manners.  She's also taken some Rally and Agility classes and loves to play ball.  She's crate trained and house trained.  This dog is full of energy and spark so will need a home with someone willing and able to set clear rules and boundaries for her and provide her with lots of physical and mental exercise and challenges.  In the right home she'll make a great companion.  She's also be a great dog for anyone interested in dogsports.
adopted - #46 - 2009 - Ace:  is a 18 month old male.   He will be neutered on Sept 23rd and available for adoption approx. 10 days later.  He's a sweet young boy who loves people.  He almost loves people too much and will need some work on his manners.  I'll be working on some basic obedience with him while he's here and recomend that his new owners take him to obedience classes.
Adopted - #45 - 2009 - Sarah:  is a 7  year old, spayed female.   She was surrendered into rescue as the result of a divorce.  We were able to contace her breeder who was very concerned about Sarah's welfare.  Because she was from out of province, she agreed to let Sarah stay here until she's adopted rather than have to travel to Calgary.  She's a very sweet, genlte girl who will make a great pet for someone looking for an older dog.  Update: Sarah has found a great home in Regina with a Std. Poodle for a playmate and goes for daily runs at the off leash park.
Adopted - # 44  -  2009 - Lucky:  is a 8  year old, neutered male.   We're still getting to know him so I'll add information to this page as we learn more about him. Update June 29: He was an outside dog until 5 or 6 weeks ago and is starting to enjoy life as a house dog.  Even though he's been an outside dog he hasn't had any accidents in the house.  He's crate trained and knows some basic obedience.  He's not too bad walking on a leash but needs work on coming when he's called.  Lucky is looking for a home with adults only where he can ejoy the life of a house dog.  Update: Lucky had very serious, unpredictable, aggression issues.  After consulting our veterinarian and other trainers we came to the conclusion that we could not risk adopting him to another home we made the decision to have him euthenized.
Adopted - # 43  -  2009 - Windu:  is a 2 1/2 year old male.   He'll be neutered before he's available for adoption so won't be available until the end of June although I'll accept applications for him anytime.   We're still getting to know him so I'll add information to this page as we learn more about him.  Update June 29: Windu loves nothing more than to hang out with his people, playing ball, going for a walk or hanging out in front ot the TV..  He's house trained, crate trained and has good leash manners.  He's a little pushy with other male dogs so would need to meet any dogs in his adoptive home before the adoption can be approved but he also seems to enjoy the company of other dogs.  He does suffer from mild seperation anxiety but is O.K. when he's crated and the TV or radio is left on while we're at work.  Windu has a new home in Asquith Sask.  His new name is Cullen and he's doing great.
adopted - # 42  -   2009 - Coby:  is a 6 month old neutered male.   He's crate trained and house trained.  As most Golden Retriever puppies he's an active guy who loves to and needs to play and go for walks.  He needs a home with a family with time to continue is basic obedience training and give him the attention and exercise he needs.   He gets along well with other dogs and out cat and loves all people.  Coby's name has been changed to Howard and he has a great home in Calgary.  Update:  Sept: Unfortunately due to allergies, Howard had to be rehomed again.  Thank you to Lori Lancaster for fostering him and helping his new home with training and to The Golden Retriever Club of Alberta for finding him a new and hopefully permanent home. Update:  Oct:  Thanks to the Golden Retriever Club of Alberta, Howard has a great new home in Calgary
